At the end of the Powell/Hyde cable car line and across the street is the home of the original "Irish Coffee".  But there is much more.  One of the best places for breakfast and a view of San Francisco bay, with a great selection of lunches and dinners.  Day or night the Buena Vista is a must-stop in the city, and don't forget the secret 'gin fizz' cocktail, served like a milkshake.  A couple of these and you're in San Francisco heaven...
